SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

Permanent employment – Full time

1823 Consulting Inc. is currently searching for a permanent, full-time Water treatment plant process technician (1 vacancy) 

Schedule

Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, Flexible hours. Starts as soon as possible

Location

Calgary, Alberta. On the road job
Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Operate disinfection systems
  • Operate oxidation systems
  • Operate pumping systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge
  • Perform security checks within plant and on grounds
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings
  • Collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content
  • Complete and maintain plant logs and reports
  • Help with the installation, the assembly, and repairs to equipment
  • Make adjustments to plant equipment and systems
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and to ensure plant systems are operating normally
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water
  • Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators and other plant equipment
  • Respond to customer complaints on water quality problems
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION

Languages

  • English or French

Education

  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
    or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 5 years or more

Area of work experience

  • Mining and exploration

  • Mining and smelting

Specialization or experience

  • Green economy sector
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge

WORKING WITH US

Salary

35.00 to 45.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 to 84 hours per week
