Mine Water Treatment Engineer/Specialist

1823 Consulting Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Engineer or Specialist to join its mine water treatment department. We are looking for a highly autonomous and versatile individual who will play a key role in the development of this young department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a dynamic team and work on world-class projects. Responsibilities will include:

Design mine water treatment plant

Prepare alternative evaluation and cost estimates

Calculate equipment size, reagent consumption, waste generation, etc.

Perform laboratory and pilot scale trials

Create flow diagrams, general arrangement, piping and instrument diagrams

Support mine water treatment operations

Define current and future client needs

Develop scope of works, schedules and proposals

Mentor junior staff

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, Biotechnological, Environmental, Water Engineering or equivalent post education experience.

3+ years of experience in the mining industry

Bilingual (French and English)

Willing to work for an extended amount of time on mine sites

Autonomous and adaptable

Strong digital literacy with the Microsoft Suite

Valid Class 5 Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

1+ year of sales experience

Trilingual (French, English and Spanish)

Water and Wastewater operator certifications

Registered as a professional engineer in Canada
