PROJECT MANAGER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

Under the responsibility of the Mining Engineering Superintendent, the Project Manager’s main mandates are to participate in the coordination of various projects related to mining operations. He will be an important actor of the team in the various projects of continuous improvement aligned with the vision of MFQ.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

– Build a strong bond of trust between the different colleagues to enable optimization with a human and understanding approach;

– Identify opportunities for technical, operational, and health and safety improvements;

– Respect, value, and promote a safe work environment.

– Promote continuous improvement

– Participate and follow up on the tendering process for the different contracts related to the mining operations.

– Follow up on costs, quality, and deadlines of work performed.

– Manage contractors and coordinate work according to the mining plan.

– Be an agent of change and a mobilizing and influential leader.

– Participate in the budget exercise.

– Facilitate workgroups and ensure the follow-up of problem-solving processes.

– Support team members at all stages of their projects.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

– As applicable, appropriate technical and/or academic training;
– Depending on the case, membership in a recognized professional order;
– Between 3 and 5 years of experience and expertise in his field;
– Good communicator, he/she knows how to influence when necessary to reach the MFQ targets;
– Knowledge of the different processes according to the standards of his profession;
– Intrapreneur” profile, acute business sense: costs/benefits, results, OHS;
– Agile” leader, able to manage and mobilize colleagues towards the targeted objectives;
– Bilingualism an asset.
